Also known as the angelfish, bastard dory, double scalare, moonlighter and zebra fish, the Old Wives get their name from the sound they make when hooked on a line as they grind their teeth together in the manner of an old lady as it were.

Quick facts on Old Wives

• They can be found by themselves, in pairs or in large schools.
• Juveniles are more elongated than adults and their colour is slightly more blotched with white-rimmed spots.
• Their diet consists primarily of crustaceans and worms.
