An Incredibly Rich And Varied Marine Life
Bluefish Valley has a vast array of other marine life, including thousands of schooling Pomfrets, Yellowtail, Bullseye and Catfish; Banded Shrimp; Eastern Blue Devilfish; Eagle and Bull Rays; Wobbegong Sharks and Port Jackson Sharks.
At this guided boat dive site, we also have a very friendly resident Blue Grouper called Wally, who will come right up to you looking for attention. If you have a camera, be prepared for Wally to photo bomb you while you’re videoing the many Grey Nurse Sharks. Elusive Weedy Seadragons can be found at the edge of the reef, hiding amongst the kelp. In the summer months we also sometimes encounter ocean Sunfish, or Mola Mola, which can weight up to 1000kg.
