An advanced offshore dive outside the heads
We dive the reef edge as it is best for viewing colourful corals and sponges. There is an abundance of good rock structures. The reef features three prominent ridges or steps of approximately 2m in height where you’ll find a variety of Sydney marine life, good coral growth and crustaceans.
Bring a torch on this colourful coral-filled reef
A torch is a must on this dive to see the reefs many as you travel down to depth. The shallower area of this reef (22m) is called “Inner Colours.” You’ll encounter schools of whiting are encountered here along with yellowtail and kingfish.
Plenty to see from friendly groupers to lobsters!
We next encounter a medium-sized boulder field at an 18m to 20m depth with sand patches, an environment well suited to large fiddler rays. Blue devil fish can also be found when looking in the ledges and caves of this area. Shy and reclusive, the blue devil fish move off quickly when they see divers.
Many different types of soft corals and sponges in a variety of colours are on offer.
Morning is the best time to dive this site as there are fish schools are visible en masse.
